Tutorial Thursday: Wearable Teal Eye Liner

Hey there! Hope your summer is going well! Today I wanted to show you an extremely wearable way to pull off teal liner without looking too made up. This look can be worn in many different liner shapes and colors so feel free to be creative with it but continue reading to see how I achieved this look. 

1. Curl your lashes before any of the eye make up to open up your eyes. It will make lining your eyes much easier because your lashes won't be in the way. 
2. Prime you eyes on the top and bottom lid for maximum pigmentation of the shadows and to prevent creasing. 
3. Apply a matte skin-tone eyeshadow color all over your eyes from lid to brow bone.
4. Define the crease of your eyes with your favorite transition shade and bring that color around your eyes on the bottom lash-line as well.
5. With a Taupe colored eye liner smudge a messy line along your lash-line really close to the lashes and bring it around the outer v of your eyes. 
6. Use a smudger brush to blend out the taupe liner. You can stop at this step and apply mascara to have a super wearable look but let's keep going and add a pop of color.
7. Take a teal eye pencil (or any color you fancy) I used Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Deep Sea, and start making light feathery strokes on the outer V of the Eye and blend it into the taupe liner.
8. Wing your eyes with the liner and use a brush to blend the lines and soften the whole look.
9. Apply lots of mascara and if you are a lash lover then have fun and apply a fluttery pair.
10. To complete the look and add a pretty girly flair I applied a Gold Glitter Eye liner on the inner portion of my lower lash line (it doesn't really comes across in the pics but it's a beautiful detail).
11. Now complete the rest of your complexion using a dewy finish foundation and go crazy with the bronzer and highlighter!

Soft Feminine Pink and Gold Eyes

Hey there lovely! 

Thanks for visiting my blog I know I haven't posted in a while and I apologize for that but there are more posts coming your way!

Today I'm showing you one of my fave looks! 

This is a fun eye look to do and it's actually very simple! 

It's a great look for the summer because it's soft and very wearable but it's still bright and colorful. 

Pink and Gold is one of my fave color combinations.

You can pair this look with a cute summery outfit. I decided to wear a floral onsie with a jean vest. 

To learn how to achieve this look continue reading and I'll break down the steps. 

The eyeshadows I used were from the Urban Decay Vice Palette which is unfortunately discontinued but you can recreate this with any Hot pink, Coppery Gold, and Yellowy Gold shadows that you have. 

Here are the steps:

• Prime your eyes with an eyeshadow primer, I used Urban Decay's Primer Potion.
• Now use a white base on your eyelids to ensure that the colors are vibrant. I used NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk.
• Then blend a Matte Creme Color under your brows and in the crease a little bit to help with blending the other colors. 
• Next pat on a light Yellowy Gold shade on the inner corner and inner eyelid of the eyes. 
• Right next to that color pat on a Coppery Gold shade on the eyelids more toward the middle.
• The last color you're going to use is a Hot Pink in the outer V of the eyes and connect it to the Coppery Gold in the middle. The colors should all blend together nicely. 
• Now you can line your eyes whichever way works best for you. I chose to use the Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black and I winged out my eyes in the Arabic Style. 
• Last but not least curl your lashes if needed and use tons of mascara on you top and bottom lashes to really open up the eyes. You can also apply a flirty pair of Fake lashes if you want but I chose not to. 

This look is best paired with a really dewy skin finish so don't wear anything too heavy or too Matte. Stick to enhancing your natural skin especially for the summer. You can choose to do a nude lip but I love my pinks so I chose to go for Buxom's Lipstick in Mistress from the Serial Killer Holiday set so I'm not sure if that color is available. But play around and have fun with it! Make this look your own! 

Princess Jasmine Inspired Make-Up Look

Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog! Today is Wearable Wednesday. I'm doing a fun make-up look today inspired by my  favorite Disney Princess, Jasmine! I LOVED the way she looked in the scene when Jafar took over Agrahbah. He forced Princess Jasmine to wear a sexy red outfit.

This look has always been something I try to recreate but there are so many ways you can go about doing this make-up. 

The easiest way to do this look is to create a pin-up styled eye and red lip but then elevate the liner and sharpen the inner corner.

Here is my recreation of the look:

I decided to add a pop of color by applying a shimmery gold on the lower lash-line and a Teal-ish Pencil in my water-line.

 Pick out a lip and blush color that will match your outfit.

Go even further and lay the products out in the order you want to use them.

Believe me this will cut 10 minutes from your morning routine! 

Don't stop there!

Save 5 more minutes and prepare all of your skincare products.

The Top 6 Real Techniques Brushes you NEED + extensive REVIEW

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday! I hope you had a great week and are having an even better weekend. Today I am going to extensively review a small selection of brushes from Samantha Chapman's Brush collection, Real Techniques. I have the entire collection but chose to review the brushes that I was requested on tumblr and on here to review. Warning: This is going to be a very long post!

In order as shown in the picture above:

• Powder Brush ($10)
• Blush Brush ($9)
• Buffing Brush (part of an $18 set w/ 4 face brushes)
• Stippling Brush ($10)
• Setting Brush ($8)
• Deluxe Crease Brush (part of a different $18 set than the buffing brush w/ 5 eye brushes)

Here are all the brushes laying next to each other so that you can see the bristles and sizes

Now before we get started I want to point out that none of these brushes shed at all! 

Not a single bristle shed before and after washing them which is really something to be impressed by.

I can't tell you how many times I've purchased a brush at about a $20-$30 price range and they have shed like crazy.

For example the Sephora Pro Stippling Brush #44 which is $35! 

Such a waste of money don't ever buy that brush! 

It sheds like crazy and I have a picture to prove it.

You can actually see the bristles shedding onto the brush itself and that's before I've even used it! Not good. The worst part about it is that when you use the brush in stippling motions (which is the purpose and intention for the brushes existence), it feels very scratchy and itchy on the face. 

Anyways, with that mini rant out of the way let's get started on the review.

First up, The Powder Brush:

This brush is an over-sized version of the Real Technique's Multi-Task Brush. 

As you can see in the photos the Powder brush and Multi-Task brush are very similar shapes. 

The powder brush is great to use for setting the entire face with a delicate layer of powder. 

The brush is very soft but when you pounce it onto the face it can feel a tiny bit scratchy. 

It is not too dense either so it is best used with a loose powder-type product. 

This brush also would make a great body bronzing brush due to it's larger size.

The size, shape and density of this brush is not comparable to any brush I've seen by any other brands so far.

Therefore, I would recommend this brush for anyone looking for a larger face brush that is affordable, soft, and gets the job done well. 

Time for brush number two, The Blush Brush:

I was very intrigued by this brushes shape and size.

I was actually hoping that it would be a dupe for Marc Jacob's Bronzer Brush no.12:  

Retails at $78.Ouch!

Once I got my hands on the brush and have used it several times I have concluded that it's absolutely nothing like that brush at all.

However, I still love this brush! 

As you can see in the blush brush collage above, in comparison to the average blush brushes, it is much more fluffy and rounded.

The bristles are extremely soft and are tapered off seamlessly.

This brush can be used for several different purposes, for blush, for all-over powdering, and my personal fave for Bronzing. (Keep in mind that I said Bronzing NOT contouring, this brush is much too big for a precise contour.)

When you want to achieve a glowy, dewy make-up look this brush will apply your bronzer flawlessly.

It creates a beautiful glow on the outside of the face.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend this brush to anyone who loves glowy yet natural make-up looks.

Third Brush is the Charm, The Buffing Brush:

The Buffing brush is the brush in the entire collection that I use the most. 

I use this brush for applying liquid foundation. 

There are 2 brushes I compared this brush to: 

They are BOTH the Sephora Classic Mineral Powder Brush #45 ( retails at $24).

However, the old #45 and the new #45 are supposed to be the same brush but they are not.

In the collage the shinier brush is the old version of brush #45. 

I have used that brush for many years and have enjoyed the density of it. 

That brush is very dense but still very soft. 

The new #45 is less dense and a lot softer. 

Now why am I bringing that up? 

I brought it up because if you have the old #45 you will not agree with what I am about to say...

The Real Technique's Buffing Brush is an exact dupe for the New Sephora Classic Mineral Powder Brush #45. 

I love all three brushes but on days when my skin is dry and flaky I prefer brushes that are NOT super dense. 

Sometimes the density of a brush can really micro-exfoliate the dry patches of ones skin so try not to use a brush that is so tightly packed with bristles.

If you are like me and have dry to normal skin then I would absolutely recommend you to invest in the Real Techniques Buffing brush because it is an exact dupe for the Sephora one and it's cheaper.

This brush comes in the Core Collection on the Real Techniques website for only $18. 

It's a great deal because it's $6 cheaper than the Sephora brush AND it comes with 3 other brushes. 

$18 for 4 brushes? 

It's a steal if you ask me! 

Moving onto Brush number four, The Stippling Brush:

I've compared 4 stippling brushes (in order of appearance): The sigma F15, the Real Techniques Stippling Brush, the E.L.F Stipple Brush, and the Sephora #44.

The Real Techniques stippling brush is unlike any other stippling brush I've tried before. 

The size is much smaller and the bristles are a lot more dense when compared to 3 other stippling brushes.

The Real Techniques Stippling brush has bristles that are more tightly packed. Its' hairs are also a lot shorter.

This brush can have a million different functions.

It would be great for stippling liquid foundation onto the skin. 

It can be used to blend harsh edges of your blush or bronzer. 

It can be used for setting your make up with a translucent powder. 

It can be used for applying liquid or cream highlighters on the high points of the face.

And lastly,what I use the brush for; applying a thin, even layer of primer onto the skin.

Keep in mind that blending with this brush might take more time since it is so precise and small compared to other stippling brushes.

The stippling brush is very well made and seems like it would last such a long time in your collection due to the density of the bristles.

With all the being said, I highly recommend this brush for anyone who doesn't mind spending more time applying their make-up and wants a Mult-functional brush, that is soft and blends out product flawlessly. 

We are getting close to the end with the Fifth Brush, The Setting Brush:

The Setting Brush has a unique shape and size. 

The bristles are tapered into a fluffy, slightly domed shape.

It is extremely soft, not too dense and not at all scratchy.

This brush is wonderful when used for setting your under-eye concealer. 

You can also use this brush to very softly contour under your cheekbones.

This brush is best used with loose powder-type products.

This brush does a great job of applying powder without moving your concealer or foundation underneath. 

I highly recommend this brush for anyone who is looking for a more precise application technique.

Last but certainly not least, The Deluxe Crease Brush:

Above you will see the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush compared to The Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer #57.

The Deluxe Crease brush is a densely packed, domed shaped brush. 

I love this brush but I do not like it for the purpose it is intended.

I find that using this brush in the crease of your eye will not work for blending out eyeshadow very well.

It is too dense to softly blend powders.

You can use this brush to apply cream eye shadow all over the eye area.

However, this brush is brilliant when used for applying concealer especially under the eyes.

This brush is actually very comparable to the ever so popular Airbursh Concealer brush by Sephora Collection (which retails at $24).

The Deluxe Crease brush comes in an $18 set that comes with 4 other eye brushes (5 brushes for $18). 

I actually like the Deluxe Crease brush a little better than Sephora's #57 because I find that it is more dense and blends concealer quicker and more seamlessly. 

Therefore, I most definitely recommend the Deluxe crease brush especially over Sephora's version because it's cheaper but works much better.

If you are looking for a flawless finish while trying to achieve great coverage than this is the brush that will do that for you. 

Overall, I am extremely impressed with the entire brush line. I definitely think that if you are looking for great functionality at a great price than these are the brushes for you. All of the brushes are synthetic so for anyone who is animal friendly you have nothing to worry about. These brushes are also extremely easy to wash. As you can see in all the photos, I like the fact that the brushes all have a flat bottom so that they can stand up on their own. There are tons of different types of brushes in the entire collection so I know that you will find one that suits your make-up routine. Real Techniques is a lovely brand and you can tell that Samantha Chapman and her sister Nic really spent time on them. Story Time Saturday: Fun Bright Make-Up for When you don't feel your best

Hey there my lovely readers!!!! Sorry I haven't posted in a while I actually have a really good excuse. I got my wisdom teeth removed on Monday 2/3/14 and I am still in the healing process. My cheeks are still very swollen so my face shape in these upcoming photos look completely rounded.

This is me over-exaggerating! 

When I look in the mirror I feel like a totally different person because all I see are these huge cheeks. It totally makes me feel like Theodore from Alvin and the Chipmunks:

This picture is perfect b/c pancakes were the first thing I ate after the surgery. This was totally what I looked like! 

My recovery is going great though. I'm not in huge pain and the swelling is slowly going down. On Monday the 10th I'm going to go back for a check up to make sure everything is healing okay and to remove the stitches. I was so shocked at how huge the wisdom teeth are though:

When I saw them for the first time I couldn't believe those teeth were under gums. Now I know why I always had tooth aches and jaw pain for so long.

Anyways, enough with  my complaining, I want you all to know that even when you are not feeling so hot you can still feel confident in your own skin. Looking at my swollen face makes me not want to go out in public but I realized that there's nothing a little contouring and confidence can't fix! ;)

Here are pictures of the look I wore out to dinner with the family last night:

The amazing palette that I used for this look was Too Faced "A Few Of My Favorite Things" Palette. It has 20 eyeshadows and 4 cheek colors which is excellent since that's also what I used to contour my cheeks.

The color Tinsel is the pretty, light gold-ish Green Eyeshadow all over the lid of my eyes. Followed by the Dark Brown eyeshadow Dark Chocolate as Eye-liner. A Pink on the lower lash-line called Taffy (mixed with the pink blush Raindrops on Roses) and a light shimmery Pink on the inner corners called Coquet. 

The lips are a beautiful Corally-Pink Nars Lip Pencil called New Lover.

Before I applied the powder bronzer and blush I first did some cream contouring. I blended a deeper shade onto the fattest part of my cheeks (which is where I'm touching my cheek in the 4th picture). 

Then after I set my face make-up I used the blush in the color Melt Into Spring and followed with the bronzer Chocolate Soleil. I pretty much put that bronzer everywhere since i was feeling quite cheeky (Get it? I said cheeky because of my cheeks! Yeah I'm lame).

After that I highlighted my skin with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette on the high points of my face to add a glow. Then I used Benefits Gimme Brow to set my thick, hairy brows and keep them in place. 

And that is the final look! I hope you like it. It's very simple and wearable to recreate so give it a try with similar colors that you have in your collection.

Make-Over Monday: Color of the Year Radiant Orchid

Happy Monday my lovely princes and princesses! Today I'm showing a fun and bright way to wear the 2014 color of the year radiant orchid.

 I love purpley shades because they are so flattering on so many people so when I found out that Pantone picked it, I was pretty excited. For any of those who are unaware of what Pantone is, it's the Company in charge of making and distributing colors. Every year they choose a color to represent that year, and all the big fashion designers, make-up artists, and stylist make creations and wearable combos using the color.
This shade of purple is sort of like a lavender mixed with a fushia pink.
Examples of fun ways to wear this color:

The Urban Decay eyeshadow in Fishnet 

 Bite Beauty's Lip Pencil in Violet, Make Up Forever's Lipstick in 15 Pearly,

Revlon's Lip Butter in Gumdrop (for those who like more sheer lips),

and the Nicole by O.P.I nail polish in Love Song (limited edition by Selena Gomez)

There are so many more ways to wear this color so don't be afraid to experiment this year. In today's Make-over Monday I have created a bold eye look using that same Urban Decay eyeshadow in Fishnet as shown above. I patted the color on my lid and blended some other purpley colors in the outer V and crease to create a gradient affect. I did an Arabic-styled eyeliner shape and then applied false eye lashes to my top lashes and a fun purpley-blue pair of lashes to the bottom.

For the lips I actually used both the lipstick shades listed above. I first applied Violet all over my lips, then defined the outside of my lips with MUFE's #15 pearly for that nice ombred appearance. If this lip is too bold for you to pair with this eye you can always tone it down and use the Revlon lip Butter in Gumdrop. You can even go with a nude lip or a soft pink.

I hope you enjoy this look and I hope that I inspired you to want to give this color a try! I know I am pretty bold with all of these colors going on all over my face but you should take away maybe 1 or 2 aspects from this look and make it work for you. 

Maybe one day you can wear a fresh eye with just mascara and then play up the lips with this color. Or you can do the opposite and play up the eyes! 

Which ever you choose I would love it if you have fun with it and make it your own!

Wondrous Wednesday: Super Cheap Fake Lashes from Amazon!

Welcome to my Wondrous Wednesday where I tell you about amazing deals I get on some products! Today I am going to talk about these fake lashes I found on Amazon. I was browsing around looking for some inexpensive kits for make up artists when I stumbled upon these eyelashes. The deal was right here. For 20 pairs of eyelashes (10 full lashes, 10 natural lashes) the seller was charging $1.12. Which was a great deal so I picked up 6 sets and spent a total of $6.33 plus FREE shipping! 60 lashes for $6 AND free shipping??? YES PLEASE!!!!

I was so excited for this deal because I love wearing fake lashes and as a Make Up Artist this is totally something I would use on my clients as well. Unfortunately, the seller actually raised the price to $2.18, which is still very affordable for 20 pairs of lashes but it's not as sweet a deal as I got. Now I know it's pretty risky to get lashes online because you never know the quality you are getting, but since it was so cheap I was not expecting incredible quality. 

Now the lashes are actually pretty good quality because they are not stiff at all. They are light weight and easy to apply. However there is something about these lashes I do not like at all. Take a look:

As you can see in the picture, some of the lash bands are perfectly fine but then other ones completely separate.Now with my tweezers I pushed some of them back up and it went back to normal. On the lashes like the top right, that are very separated, you can't push them back together because it won't stay.

Now it's not a big deal to me when I am wearing them on myself because I can easily cover the band with tons of eyeliner. However, I would never put lashes like that on my clients.

Overall, I am still happy with the purchase, although this buy was the perfect example of Quantity winning over Quality. That is why I am forever going to love the quality and price of the Ardell Demi-Wispies.

My Tuesday Treasure: Real Techniques ENTIRE Brush Collection

Hello again, my lovely readers. I am extremely excited to share with you something amazing that happened to me today! Before I go into detail about what it is I want to share with you, here's a little bit of back-story.

I have loved and followed the Pixiwoo sisters on youtube for many years and I am a huge fan of all their videos. A few years ago when I found out that Sam had her very own line of make up brushes called "Real Techniques" I immediately wanted to try them and became a follower of her Real Techniques Website. I even signed my email up to receive daily notifications so I can learn about all her different brushes and deals. 

However, I have never purchased her brushes online because I hate paying for shipping. Then one day an Ulta opened near me so I had to check it out. Happily, I stumbled upon "Real Techniques" there and I picked up this amazing value set of Brushes called "Sam's Picks." For $30 the collection had 6 brushes, 4 face brushes and 2 eye brushes. 

I was so happy with this purchase! Not only was it an incredible deal but the quality of the brushes were amazing! They are very soft and just dense enough to blend product flawlessly! The bristles do not shed at all and washing them is a breeze! It was easily the best purchase I have ever made on any make up brushes ever!

Magical Make-Over Memories: Rapunzel Make-Up Tutorial That Sadly Never Happened

Welcome back to my blog my fellow Princes and Princesses! I apologize for not posting as consistently as I said I would. I need to get used to keeping all my blogs active so just give me some time to get used to it. 

Today I want to tell you about this Make-Up Tutorial that I had recorded but never edited or posted onto YouTube! This is an old Make-Up look I had done way back in 2011 when the Disney movie Tangled was still new and very popular! Watching the Film in theaters was so fun and it easily became a new Disney Film Favorite! So I decided to film a Make-Up tutorial on how to create Rapunzel's naturally radiant, wide-eyed, freckle-faced, everyday Make-Up look.

Unfortunately when I was going to edit the video, somehow the file that the video was stored in became corrupt and I was never able to open it. When I decided to re-film it, that's when I found out the bad news; My camera had been stolen. From then on, my desire for filming make up tutorials had come to a halt. It's not until this last Christmas Holiday (2013) that I finally got a camera again. The Lovely Prince in my life purchased a camera for me as my Christmas present! I am so grateful to him for the gift and I will put it to good use!  

Anyways, about the Make-Up look, Since it was so long ago I don't remember all the products I used anymore but I will write down the steps on how to Achieve Rapunzel's look using whatever products you have at home. SO please continue to read:

    I photoshopped my eyes green to see if I could pull it off as well as Rapunzel!

1) Prep the skin with your skin care routine and be sure to use a very hydrating moisturizer.

2) Prime the skin if needed for your skin-type and move onto your base.

3)Apply a Tinted-Moisturizer, BB Cream, CC Cream, or Light-weight Foundation that has a Dewy Finish. You can also conceal whatever areas of the skin that need more coverage.

4) Apply a cream blush onto the apples of the cheeks in a rosy, pinky shade. 

5) Apply a setting powder of your choice that suits your skin-type. Just make sure that it doesn't mattify the skin too much (If you have dry skin then feel free to skip this step).

6)Apply an eyeshadow primer if needed and use a matte all-over skin-tone color from the lid up to the brow bone. Then apply a crease color a few shades darker than your skin-tone to define your eyes. Make sure this color is matte as well. Follow this shade along the lower lash-line as well to further define the eyes. If you want you can also apply a shimmery highlight color to the inner corner and the center of the lid.

7) Now line your eyes with a dark brown liner. I used a gel liner from Smashbox but feel free to use a pencil or liquid. Blend out the liner to soften it and set it with a matching eyeshadow. 

8)Apply tons of Mascara on the top and bottom, and for more drama apply false lashes that are longest in the middle of the eye for that round eye effect. 

9) Line the inner rim of the eye with a skin-tone color to make your eyes look brighter. You can use white if you want but it won't look as natural. 

10) Do your eyebrows as you wish, just make sure they are neat and in place and NOT too dark or defined.

11) Use a powder blush that has a bit of a sheen to it to set the cream blush from earlier.

12) Use a hard, taupey pencil (usually brow pencils work best) to draw freckles onto your nose and cheeks. I already have freckles so I just made sure that you could see them more. 

13) Then apply a glossy natural lip color that has a pinky hue. 

Now you can go out into the world with your Natural, Dewy, glowing skin and feel like a Princess!!! Hope you at least enjoyed these photos and try this look out for yourself!
